This 50 year old matching set of chairs was chosen because of the style and function as well as one great frame . The wood needs a little freshening up too.
Older quality furniture has so much character.
Not being stripped of all of its uniqueness as modern factory pieces are that are mostly designed to be disposable. imho
Here shows the base needs new natural support materials.
And the inside back needs all new support material as well.
Below shows the base ready to be lined with fresh cotton underneath.
The natural horse hair was dusted out and reset.
With the base lined before upholstery helps the finish upholstery fabric tailor up so nice.
Pattern matching throughout this pair of chairs is so important.
I have 20 years making these type of arm cuts. clean, no wrinkles, and tight.
The inside back handset decorative tacks all hand set with rolled under fabric.
Quality frames, quality fabric from my fabric books and quality stuffings, this pair is good to go for 50 years or more.
Sure will look nice for night display in the shop window!
Thanks for looking!

Those are beautiful. It does take experience to be able to make the proper cuts around arms.
