I would say this sofa was created between ww1 and ww2.
Upholstered here in southern New Hampshire.
The last upholsterer really hammered this frame with an excessive amount of long staples.
I got most of them out without matting up the exposed wood.
Restor-a-finish really freshens up the wood.
A re-set spring nose front helps to keep the base looking sharp.
The base and inside arms were restored the last time it was upholstered.
they left the inside back original.
It sure is time to restore the inside back spring assembly.
Hand tied coil springs.
And a coat of natural burlap over the hand tied springs and its ready for the original horse hair stuffings.
The owner noticed one wobblie joint.
I tapped open the joints, glued and reset with a new longer screw.
The fabric was end cut which prompts vertical seams, matched sewn throughout, mirrored.
Further matched the belting on all the seat cushions.
And the gimp carefully glued on to tie all the exposed wood.
For an older sofa this one has a real nice sitting height.
Thanks for looking!
