Fun In The Sun

Below is a 2 inch cushion with polywrap and printed outdoor fabric from the in stock fabrics. Complete with ties.

Here I refurbished a pair of 40 year old sun loungers.
Here is the back side. Spring system sure is a nice design.
The owner picked a deep blue army cotton duct 18 oz. weight I sold her. Sewed back in the steel cord and attached back to the frame.

Boat maze

Here we got a 6 foot long boat plate to a "party" boat or a pontoon boat to be upholstered here in New Hampshire. This plate was used to step in and out. The base plywood  broke from excessive water trapped in the seat and wood rot.. The replaced plywood has many custom cuts and several "t" nuts with sanded edges. The foam was steamed back to original shape and the same cover tailered back up with stainless steel staples.
Most boat seating fill with water and do not dry out. When they are full of water, they are full of weight. And as any boat captain knows weight is so important.

Upholstered side plates that decorate and trim up a boat look simple enough. These suffer also from wet rot.
Here is a boat top cover repair. The stern of the cover needed bungee cords neatly sewn into the cover.

1880's

Here we have a 4 piece set created about 1890. They have some east lake characteristics. The pic above and below is one of two side chairs refurbishing the  bases.
The frame needed some tightening up with some glue and clamps.

Here we have the love seat "tore down" for repairs.

And the springs with the hand tied coil springs.

A hundred and twenty years later and just dust out the old straw and replace. "Modern" stuffings sure won't stand up to that amount of time.

Next is a coat of fresh cotton and then line the base before final fabric.

Here we have Oden centered on each piece. The chessboard center is found in churches and monestaries.
The finished product.

And all 4 pieces ready to go home.

Great value and caracter. These pieces are ready for many years of enjoyment.
Here is a very old "orphan ottoman" wih great carving.
Lots of tacks removed and freshened up the wood finish.

Afresh coat of cotton and upholstered in silk with a double piping trim.
Here is a pair of tufted chairs from Florida.

The owner picked out a nice traditional small print fabric.

My Little Friend

Here is a  picture of  my little friend I picked up in western mass on route 2.

The creator of my little friend suggested a exterior latex paint.
I sanded down the rough edges with 80 grit sandpaper.
He used portland cement for quality.
They are larger than appear in the pics shown here.
Below shows the close up of the smaller friend.
Really nice detail for cement castings.

First coat is done!
And now back on to the second coat.
 It patina'd up just fine.
I scrubbed down the final coat with fine steel wool.
The height of the larger one is 18 inches.
The height of the smaller one is 8 inches.
I glued on leather on the bottoms.
Sure beats felt.

Thanks for looking!
