1880's

Here we have a 4 piece set created about 1890. They have some east lake characteristics. The pic above and below is one of two side chairs refurbishing the  bases.

                                The frame needed some tightening up with some glue and clamps.

                                            Here we have the love seat "tore down" for repairs.

                                                 And the springs with the hand tied coil springs.

            A hundred and twenty years later and just dust out the old straw and replace. "Modern" stuffings sure won't stand up to that amount of time.

                            Next is a coat of fresh cotton and then line the base before final fabric.

Here we have Oden centered on each piece. The chessboard center is found in churches and monestaries.

                                                        And all 4 pieces ready to go home.

                    Great value and caracter. These pieces are ready for many years of enjoyment.
                                     Here is a very old "orphan ottoman" wih great carving.
                                        Lots of tacks removed and freshened up the wood finish.

Afresh coat of cotton and upholstered in silk with a double piping trim.

Here is a pair of tufted chairs from Florida.

The owner picked out a nice traditional small print fabric.
